You just graduated a year earlier than your other classmates. How does that feel?
It feels surreal, to know that you’ve started with these people and you’ll now have to leave them behind.
How did you accomplish that? What are some challenges you faced along the way if any?
I started high school classes from middle school. Ever since then I knew that I couldn't stay in high school for 4 years. There were times when I felt like I couldn't do it. However, I was aware of my academic capabilities.
You’re 16. You own your own business. How does it feel to be you?/What goes on in your mind every day that you wake up and remember that you are a young businesswoman?
It feels normal which is not normal. I don't wake up feeling different from anyone else. My thoughts are always to get the job done, whether it’s in school or work.
What made you decide that you wanted your own business?
I never decided that I wanted my own business. I never dreamt of this or pictured it for myself. The opportunity presented itself to me and I couldn't pass it up. I knew the impact it would have on others and I wouldn't want to waste that.
Did anyone ever try to put negativity in your head about establishing your business?
No.
What are some challenges that you faced on the journey?
Filling out certain documents at my age is very hard. I often have to look to my older brother Oshane Nelson to help me.
How has COVID changed the way you do business?
I always have to take safety precautions. My products don’t come in as quickly or they are often on back order.
You do nails. You specialize in hair and beauty products. You’re about to graduate early. You have a lot on your plate and you seem to manage it very well. What do you do to relax?
I'm actually graduating June 2021, a year earlier than when I was supposed to. I usually watch tv to relax. Tv shows have always been a release for me. I’m always watching Sscandal which is my favorite show, and I always have another show to watch.
Out of all the services you offer, which is your favorite and why?
Nails definitely have to be my favorite, they take less time and I can be more creative.
Given your clear path to continuous success, where would your dream vacation to celebrate that be?
My dream vacation is on an island like the Maldives. I want to be surrounded by clear water drinking refreshing drinks and not having to stress about anything at home.
