FOODGASM: COOL IT

Summer ins't over until September 22nd! And as we continue to enjoy the days under the sun, the less cooking we want to do and the more brunching we want to enjoy. I mean, who can really say no to brunch?! No one can... no one. Since brunch can be an indulgent act, I wanted to share a way to still enjoy it while being healthy!

WE PROMISE WE'RE NOT!

WE PROMISE WE'RE NOT!

We always encourage you treat yourself, but sometimes the only way to ensure you're not eating a bunch of chemicals (if it sounds like a word from a scifi movie, it's probably not good) is to make things at home- and I'm specifically talking about the sweet stuff. And my go to this summer has become FROYO. While they are considered “desserts” or “snacks”, froyo popsicles are a great alternative when you need that sweet tooth fix. They’re not just easy to make at home, but they’re so dang good!

In this recipe I chose to use Siggi’s drinkable yogurt. Siggi’s yogurt is packed with protein and has other nutrients that your body could use while it's being worn down from this heat. You can opt out of using Siggi’s and use any brand that you personally enjoy of course.

SHOPPING LIST:

  • Popsicle mold

  • 16 oz. yogurt of choice

  • Mix of fruits (I used 1/2 cup of strawberries sliced, 1/3 cup of blueberries)

  • Optional: chia seeds

HOW TO MAKE THEM:

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cooling time: 4 hours

Serving size: 6 for you + frens

  1. Once you prep your fruit (wash, slice, measure) start setting up which fruit (and chia seeds if you add them), you'd like in each. *I mixed each pop with random selections of fruits.

  2. Put some fruit at the base of your ice pop holder and then pour in some of the yogurt.

  3. Continue to layer until you have reached the top and can seal them to freeze for 4+ hours.

  4. Once they have frozen entirely, take them out the molds, take a photo then ENJOY!
