For some holiday gift shopping is the most exciting time of the year and can be seamless deciding what to gift a coworker vs family and friends. In my experience, this tasks can be daunting and stressful when pressured to find the right size or right color or overall being uncertain if someone will like the gift. Focusing on clothing, shoes and other apparel is where I figured I’ve gone wrong in the gifting strategies. So here’s a list of a couple wellness gifts that you absolutely can’t go wrong in and are supporting small business owners that care about the products they make!
Rizos Curls
IYKYK!!! Rizos Curls product use shea butter, sunflower oil, aloe, coconut oil and other natural ingredients for our curly hair mob. We featured Julissa earlier this year and tried her products ourselves and felt we would be doing a disservice if we did not include her on our list. There’s nothing more to look forward to then having a night with candles lit, a good playlist and a bath soak. SHOCKS OF LOVE
While on a trip to LA , I was introduced to this aromatherapy set that was created by owner of SHOCKS OF LOVE, Juan Felipe. His family comes from a line of horticulture enthusiast in Colombia and he created these incredible scents to create a connection with meditative spaces with a perfume aesthetic. I definitely was skeptic but felt immediately relaxed and soothed by the different scents. Even better, 5% of their profits go to Activation Residency, a black led artist residency for Black, Brown, Indigenous, Queer and Trans bodies.
After doom scrolling I spray DREAM LOVER over my bed and over my body to breathe in and out and CHILLLL.
HUSSLE BUTTAS
We all know that our abuelitas love to swear by tiger balms when it comes to using a product to relieve aches or muscle pains. However, I think we can appreciate that tradition and welcome other new products that use CBD for its healing and soothing properties. Hussle Buttas is made by founder Dionna Edmondson who was looking to make something to help treat her breakouts during quarantine. The hipped body butter is made with almond butter, cocoa butter, shea butter, apricot oil and cbd infused avocado oil to tie everything together. It smells like you’re hugging a mango and the packaging is also fly!

If you’re looking to send a coworker, friend or anyone in the family a gift but feel nervous about getting it wrong - do yourselves a favor and get one of these candles. Founded by Michaelee Lazore, these candles are all designed, produced and packaged in a small studio.
