BALANCING YOUR CHAKRAS

 

You’ve probably laughed as your friend joked about needing to realign her chakras instead of going clubbing on another Friday night… while simultaneously thinking just exactly how one could do that? Ponder no more! Our friend @alleahtheguru has given us some quick ways to balance said chakras. Call it Chakras 101, so pay attention and keep your chakras in line all of 2020!

ROOT CHAKRA

Mūlādhāra is the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. The root chakra is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability in your life. This includes your basic needs such as food, water, shelter, safety, as well as your emotional needs of interconnection, and being fearless.

  • Clean and organize your personal spaces (bedroom, bathroom, car, workspace).

  • Go on a walk outside.

  • Drink some water.

  • Take 3 deep breaths.

  • Try earthing. place your bare feet in some soil or sand.

SACRAL CHAKRA

Svadhishthana or the sacral chakra, is the second primary chakra according to Hindu Tantrism. This chakra is said to be blocked by anxiety or taboos regarding sexual expression. A person who has guilt free sexual expression with moderation, will have an unblocked sacral chakra.

  • Take a relaxing, hot bath or shower.

  • Perform some deep hip stretches.

  • Listen to some music.

  • Dance like no one’s watching.

  • Journal. focus on what emotions and past experiences you want to let go of.

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA

Your solar plexus chakra is located above your navel and below your sternum. It functions as the center of energy associated with ego. It’s the source of personal power, self-belief, and self-worth.

  • Exercise.

  • Focus on your manifestations.

  • Be spontaneous. do something out of the ordinary.

  • Take a sun bath.

  • Find an emotional catharsis to release your anger. screaming, getting creative, and exercise are get outlets.

HEART CHAKRA

Anahata is the fourth primary chakra. In Sanskrit, anahata means "unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten". Anahata is associated with balance, calmness, and serenity. This charka embodies your ability to love unconditionally. Motivated by love, your fourth chakra is responsible for moving love throughout your life

  • Go forest bathing.

  • Make a list of things that your grateful for.

  • Do some shadow work. learn to love the parts of yourself that you don’t like.

  • Focus on forgiving yourself and others for the past.

  • Do some chest stretches.

THROAT CHAKRA

Vishuddha is the fifth chakra. In Sanskrit, the word 'Vishuddha' (meaning purification) is used for the Fifth Chakra. This Chakra is the center of communication, listening etc

  • Repeat your favorite affirmations or mantras.

  • Listen to some sound healing meditation music.

  • Journal about your daily thoughts.

  • Try screaming or laughing as a catharsis for emotional release.

  • Sing like no one is watching.

THIRD EYE

The Third Eye Chakra is an Open Mind. Opening the mind and discriminating between thoughts motivated by strength, fear, and illusion are all challenges of the sixth chakra. It is learning to develop an impersonal mind and detaching oneself from physical and mental illusions

  • Ground yourself in mindfulness. try yoga or meditation.

  • Go on a psychedelic journey.

  • Contact your spirit guides or higher self.

  • Do some self-reflection. You can do this mentally or in a journal.

  • Try moon or star gazing.

CROWN CHAKRA

The crown or the seventh chakra is located at the top of the head. Just as the Root or First Chakra connects us to the Mother Earth, the Crown Chakra is our connection to the Universe. In fact, the Seventh Chakra disperses the Universal energy or life force into the six other chakras located below it.

  • Try some energy work like reiki, qigong, falun gong, etc.

  • Re-commit yourself your the spiritual journey. remember your purpose.

  • Practice the power of prayer.

  • Remain open to guidance. remember that blessings come in all forms.
